Mind-Blowing Awesome - Michio Kaku, String Theory, and The Universe

I've recently been introduced to some of Micho Kaku's videos, and I have to say I have been really impressed with the talks he gives on various topics from physics to religion, and much more.

He talks in a manner that can easily be understood by the average viewer, and does not speak condescendingly towards his audience.  Instead, he cracks a lot of jokes, makes it actually interesting to watch.  His genius is layered in the topics in which he speaks about, and there are some things I find unsettling about his predictions on the future, but on the whole it is still extremely interesting.

If you watch the Big Bang Theory, and are wondering who came up with String Theory, the developing theory in particle physics that attempts to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity, it *edit* was popularized by him and has injected a lot of credibility on the subject.
I'll be writing more awesome (and more original) posts in the near future, Uni has been busy as hell, but also make sure to check out my other blogs, i'll update as often as I can =)

Very interesting video that talks about type 0 - type 4 civilizations.  Very mind-opening topic, part of the 1hr lecture he gave, if you have time, its very interesting, just skip the stupid jokes he makes in the beginning.

Another very interesting video, talks about Aliens, the possiblity of close-encounter, and more

Last video for today, on the future of cars, also very interesting

I like your blend of articles, I'll be checking back soon.

These theories are always amazing to hear, but the amount of chaos that comes with it is ridiculous.

In my Astronomy classes this guy would be in nearly every documentary we'd watch. Really does a well job of explaining these theories.

This man is the whole reason Discovery Channel makes any money.

That was really thought provoking. I hope I live long enough to see us change to a type 1 civilization and I really hope we succeed.

I've always loved this guy. He does have some very good thoughts. But I swear I thought he was going to say the internet was tubes in the first video. I must be demented.

that's a unique perspective on it!

This guy is great, I have seen him a lot on Discovery.

he's not the one who came up with string theories, he's one of the pioneer of it.

btw, he is also considered as one of the "ROCK STAR OF SCIENCE".

I like listening to the guy, but I don't like how he speaks about some things with to much certainty. Not very scientific if you ask me.

JillDine said...

if he is right and if he can prove the theory...it would be pretty amazing.
